10 Years from now!

In fashion with Shannon from Fort Cox, I, too, am making a 10 year down the road entry. In ten years, I will be 29 years old, about to turn the big 3-0 in 2 months and 20 days. Sigh. But to make becoming this old a little bearable, I will have an 18 year old son about to graduate! Wow, that will make me feel really young being only 30 when he graduates! Probably stressing about paying for college and raising our other children ages 9, 7, and 5. My baby will have been in school for two years at this point and I will be a homeschooling mama. Jon will be 35 (haha!) and be in the United States Army for 16 years! Hopefully a W3 at this time at least, and we will have seen some amazing places! I will have a strong holding blog, a nice clean house, and a homecooked meal on the table nightly. I will be going strong with my handsome Warrant Officer loving and living life. We will more than likely live on post, in officer housing! I will be an active member in my church attending every Sunday and my kids will love the Lord with all their hearts! :) Griffon will be an old dog of 10 years and Bella will be 12. I can see me now...pulling freshly baked cookies out of the oven, supper in the crockpot, kids running around in the back yard with the dog and their dad, while I finish up the cleaning and soon go out with them to enjoy this August day. Ahhh, I can't wait.

New Year Resolutions.

I have never been one big on New Year Resolutions, mainly for the fact that I can never last past the first week, and that is a bit depressing lol. But this year, being a wife and all, I have decided to start making them...only to change me into the person I want to be when Jon and I have our own family. Here it goes.

1. Stereotypically, lose weight. Not too much though. Tone I would like to say. I like having a more "full" figure than skinny, but I do NOT like having pudge hanging over my jeans. That is a basic no-no and that NEEDS to be fixed.
2. Be better at blogging. I started this blog to give time to recording Jon and I's first years and years to come of marriage and such, so I need to start.
3. No more cursing. Its a horid habit that I really need to cut. There is no reason for any of that to come out of my mouth when there are perfectly more acceptable things to say.
4. More quiet time and making Church a priority. I have found an AWESOME church and it has the BEST people. You can totally tell God is there when you walk through the doors, but lately I have been really 'lax about getting through those doors. I am going to be spending quiet time with God everyday and praying. Along with church. I am making it my mission to not miss church at ALL this year. We'll have to see how I do. I could use some prayers ;)
5. Be a better wife. In the few months Jon and I have been married, I have learned so much about myself and he and I together, as a unit, than I could have ever imagined. I plan on growing on those findings and developing a beautiful realtionship with my husband.
6. Keep a better house. I do not want to let my house get out of control like it so often does. I have had times when I seriously sit in the middle of the room and cry because I do not know where to start! I have developed a plan for this and it WILL work!
7. Eat more at home. I gained SO much weight from eating out it is ridiculous. Also, what is a more comforting way to say I love you to your husband than to cook him an amazing dinner, right? I started the New Year with my Chicken and Dumplings in the slow cooker. Yummm.
8. Be a wiser spender. Being the wife, and eventually the SAHW, I will be in charge of finances and making sure things are bought when needed and bills are paid. In order to do that, I need to actually have the money to do it with!

Wow, I think eight is quit enough!
Happy New Years!!

2010.

This is one of my new years resolutions, had to get it in before the day is over! Be back tomorrow!

TEASER.

UPDATE!

So to say I have been busy would be a severe understatement! I am now, officially married and am Amanda Thomas Drommerhausen. Along with getting married, we have been fixing up our home (hopefully pictures soon, if it ever ends), have adopted a baby hound shepard (hopefully pictures soon, if he ever sits still!) AND been battling the army to get all my paperwork done- and I will gaurantee pictures when that is done dang it! Ahh, to be an Army Wife.

My father pulled through BIG time on the wedding and I could not have imagined a better one. Who can say that on their wedding day it was supposed to be 63 degrees, cloudy and have scattered thunderstroms throught the time of the wedding- and the wedding was outside! But instead of doing that it was 80 degrees, sunny with no clouds in the sky and only rained maybe two drops at 11pm!! God is good.

I will post pictures once my photographer gives them to us!

Finally!

Me and my future husband are amazingg! I'm so happy! We are finally getting everything set. We got our renters insurance today (yay for state farm!) and then proceeded to get this AMAZING quote from Geico for car insurance. I got a student discount, a marriage discount, and a military spouse (lovee it!) discount. And Jon is on the account too so when he gets his truck in October, we will just add him in! And that great price is including our total of three accidents. I'm so excited! I got priced at $443 at State Farm and I got FULL COVERAGE at Geico for $140 a month!!!!!!!!!! Yay.
We also did our walk through of our apartment today! I got measurements and made sure our furniture would fit. And it all does! I'm so ready! I'm doing an accent wall in the living room with a Terra-Cotta Pot color (orangish-red) and the other walls are a tannish goldy yellow lol. The kitchen is olive green and our master bedroom is a light brown.
Life is great right now.
Move in date is this Saturday and our furniture will come Tuesday. I plan on painting all evening Saturday and Sunday day. Jon will move the bedroom stuff in Sunday night :) Its all set!

Oh oh and wedding stuff too! We are getting married in a very small, intimate setting with just our immediate family on October 24, 2009 at 10am. Since his parents have a prior obligation on the 24th, they will only be available till like 11 lol so we are doing a family and friends get together on October 25th at Newport News Park at 12pm. Also, before we get to NNP, we are getting ourselves a baby! Either a Sophie or a Griffon. A dog. I'm so excited!

So, here are the dates:
September 26: Move In
October 3: House Warming Party
October 10: Family Bridal Shower
October 11: Friends Bridal Shower
October 17: Bachelorette Party
October 24: MARRIED!
October 25: "Reception/Get together"
October 30: Halloween Party/After the Fact Party (our "reception" for our friends)

NOT looking forward to tomorrow. Although I somewhat am. I suprisingly out of no where got a new job today! :) Hallejulah. I now am employed by EduBear Child Care and Learning Development Center in Kiln Creek! :) I was supposed to have an interview tomorrow, but the "COO" called me today and wanted to know if I could come in and work TODAY! And they reallly needed me, so its understandable. AND I get to wear scrubs ;) Always thought they were cute.

But tomorrow is dreadful. I work 6am-3pm at the daycare then babysit in Smithfield from 4pm-12am. Dang. I hate being a pushover.

Rest of week:
Thursday: School 9:30-12:15; Daycare 1:00-6:00
Friday: Daycare 6am-5pm; Babysit 6pm-12am in Toano
Saturday: Bed Bath and Beyond 10am-4pm
Sunday: Stupid Driver Improvement Course. Ugh. All for an accident NOT my fault because I'm under 20. I hate it.
